Consumers Energy is offering tips and programs to help Michigan residents save on their energy bills this winter.
With temperatures dropping, Consumers Energy is advising customers to take steps to keep their heating costs down. Suggestions include lowering water heater temperatures to 120 degrees and ensuring furnaces are well-maintained and filters are changed regularly.
“We want to help folks make sure that they are doing everything that they can to keep the heat that they are paying for inside of their home,” said Tricia from Consumers Energy.
Consumers Energy also recommends adjusting ceiling fan settings to circulate warm air effectively. By setting fans to rotate clockwise, heat is pushed downwards, helping to maintain a comfortable temperature in living spaces.
