A hunter was charged with shooting a high-powered rifle in the direction of a Lancaster County home, sending a bullet whizzing past a woman’s head who had been standing in her backyard last month, police said in court documents.
Karen Gaus, 42, of Lancaster County, was charged with recklessly endangering another person, a second-degree misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a summary offense, according to charging documents filed by Susquehanna Regional police.
The victim called police around 4:50 p.m. on Nov. 29 in the 200 block of Beattys Tollgate Road in East Donegal Township to report she was standing by a tree in the backyard near a pool when she heard a rifle bullet fly over her head, court documents said.
