WOWT CrimeLINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The Lincoln Emergency Communications Center (LECC) is fully staffed for the first time in 20 years.
The Lincoln Police Department made the announcement Thursday morning at the LECC, saying the seven new recruits in its 911 Academy helped close the gap.
Police Chief Michon Morrow, along with LPD’s assistant chiefs, the director and operations manager, spoke to the class on the first day of their seven-week training to welcome them to the first responder family.
“Increasing staffing levels has been a longtime goal for the center, to make sure we have enough qualified telecommunications serving the City of Lincoln and Lancaster County,” the Lincoln Police Department wrote on Facebook.
