OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The Omaha Police Department has named the 55-year-old woman who died after a crash in North Omaha.

According to an OPD release, the crash happened shortly before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday near 60th Street and Ames Avenue.

Police officers found the woman, identified Thursday as Pamela Lawson, at the scene. She was taken to the hospital where she died shortly after.

Lawson was from Omaha, according to the update.

An initial investigation showed Lawson was going eastbound on Ames on a motorized wheelchair. An eastbound 2012 Chevy Silverado “collided with her,” the release states, and she was thrown from the wheelchair.

The wheelchair ended up crashing into a vehicle in the turn lane.

The investigation is ongoing, OPD writes.
