DULUTH — After sitting empty for more than a year, the Lake Superior Zoo's lynx habitat is once again occupied.
Two Canada lynx, brothers from different litters, arrived at the zoo in late October and are now on view in their habitat. "They're made for this climate, so they're doing great," said Micayla Coble, primary carnivore keeper.
The range of Canada lynx extends across Alaska and their namesake country, extending down into the northernmost regions of the continental United States. "You can even see them half an hour away from Duluth," Coble said. "They're just pretty rare to spot because they are very elusive."
