MONTGOMERY, N.Y. — Kingston High’s girls wrestling team debuted with an impressive performance at a 13-team competition at Valley Central High on Tuesday, Dec. 9
Taking the mat first for the Tigers at 107 pounds, seventh grader Layla Lane won by technical fall in her first varsity wrestling match.
Jaz’miah King-Nelson followed with a quick pin at 114 pounds in her varsity debut.
Mackenzie Hasbrouck (126 pounds) and Milan Parker (132) also recorded pins for their first varsity victories on the mat.
New to the sport, Kyra Campbell won her first match by a technical fall at 132 pounds.
Claire Orlando picked up two wins by pins at 138 pounds.
Aaliyah Fitzgerald looked strong as a new wrestler when she recorded a pin at 165 pounds.
