CLARKSBURG — West Virginians should brace for one final round of Arctic cold this weekend before temperatures warm heading into Christmas week, meteorologists said.
A storm system moving through Saturday night into Sunday is expected to bring 3 to 6 inches of snow to the northern half of the state, with higher accumulations possible in some areas, according to Francis Kredensor, lead meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
"It does look like that should be all snow for the weekend system," Kredensor said.
Highs on Sunday are forecast to reach only the mid-teens in Central West Virginia, a roughly 20-degree drop from Saturday's anticipated mid-30s.
