Man walks 6-year-old to school in freezing weather

Viral video shows a Michigan man on Facebook Live as he walked a 6-year-old girl to school in freezing weather.

Joshua Threatt, whose video quickly drew thousands of views, said he followed the girl for several blocks to make sure she arrived to her school safely. The video shows her without a hat or gloves. Advertisement

"She had to be freezing, no doubt," Threatt told WXYZ . He estimated that the girl's walk to school was almost 10 blocks.

When they arrived at the school — Thirkell Elementary in the Detroit Public School System — Threatt said he told staff at the front door what happened and then cried.

"She probably scared because she been walking for about 10 blocks," Threatt is heard telling a school employee through tears.
