BEAUMONT, Texas — A 28-year-old Beaumont man will serve nearly a decade in federal prison after pleading guilty to robbing a business at gunpoint, U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs announced Wednesday.
U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone sentenced Naiyme Kidd to 117 months in federal prison on Dec. 11, 2025, for Hobbs Act robbery and brandishing a firearm during what the U.S. Attorney’s Office called "a crime of violence" in the Eastern District of Texas.
On Feb. 19, 2025, law enforcement responded to an armed robbery at Joy's Fun Place on South 11th Street in Beaumont. The business operates as a game room and convenience store where customers play game machines and win credit for store purchases.
