SOAP LAKE, Wash. – A postal service letter carrier in rural Soap Lake discovered a note asking for help in a mailbox and immediately called the Grant County Sheriff's Office (GCSO).

According to GCSO via Facebook , upon receiving the call, a sergeant checked on the resident. The sergeant found a person recently discharged from the hospital whose power had been turned off during their absence. The individual also lacked a running vehicle, making it difficult to address the situation.
