SKAGIT COUNTY, Wash. – Governor Bob Ferguson held a second press conference addressing the severe flooding in Skagit County on Thursday.
Ferguson emphasized his efforts in securing federal emergency funding to address the situation.
"We tried to be as persuasive as we could with our partners in the federal government that they need to approve that emergency right away," he said. "I have another meeting... after this press conference."
Emergency management in Skagit County highlighted concerns about potential damage to dikes and levies, recalling similar impacts during the severe flooding in 2021.
However, it remains uncertain if the current flooding will result in similar damage.
