Some school districts and universities in the Louisville metro area will be closed or operating on modified schedules as a major cold front is expected to bring heavy snow to the portions of the region Dec. 11-12.

Jefferson County Public Schools cancelled all evening activities Dec. 11 in anticipation of the area seeing from 1-4 inches of accumulation.
