Alaskans affected by the October storms, flooding, and Typhoon Halong now have more time to apply for state disaster assistance. The Alaska Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management is accepting applications for State Individual Assistance through January 8th, 2026.
The State IA program helps residents in areas not covered by the federal disaster declaration. Financial aid can cover damage to homes, vehicles, essential personal property, and even medical, dental, or funeral costs caused by the disaster.
Eligible homeowners and renters may also qualify for temporary housing assistance if their primary residence is damaged or unlivable.
