Dennis Animal Control is seeking information regarding how a cat that was found on the street this past week became injured by gunfire.

The cat was found alive in West Dennis near Trotting Park Road and Sunset Lane, but with what appeared to be a gunshot wound, Dennis Animal Control wrote in a Wednesday Facebook post .

“We are asking nearby residents to please check any security cameras, doorbell cameras, or outdoor footage that may help identify what happened,” the department wrote.

Dennis Animal Control asks that anyone with information about what happened to the cat or who discovers footage that may be relevant contact the department at 774-352-1400.
