A video of porch pirates using a Wi-Fi jammer to distort doorbell video in Texas went viral earlier this week. Now, cybersecurity experts are offering tips on how to protect your home and holiday packages.

Horacio Maysonet, the CEO of Cyber Security Solutions, said these tools have been available for years and explained how the jammers work.

"It's an antenna that broadcasts a stronger signal than what your router antenna will be broadcasting, essentially blocking all the channels and creating a lot of noise. So the other antennas that are intended to connect and pass data can now no longer connect and pass data."

He compared it to this: "You can imagine if somebody's screaming louder than you're talking and you can no longer hear the person in front of you having a conversation."
