CRAVEN COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Warrants indicate Dominic Connelly, the man captured Thursday morning, wanted in the murder of his grandmother and for stabbing a Craven County Sheriff’s deputy, is due in court Friday morning.
Craven County Sheriff Chip Hughes said Connelly was arrested in an abandoned house near Muddy Lane. That’s north of Vanceboro off Business U.S. 17.
He had been on the run since the October 25th murder of his grandmother, 72-year-old Patricia Lopedote, at a home on Highway 101 outside Havelock. The home was then set on fire and authorities say he stole his grandmother’s car.
Connelly is accused of stabbing a deputy in the right leg several days later.
