AMES — Iowa State basketball forward Dominykas Pleta is out for Thursday's game against rival Iowa with a right ankle injury and is day-to-day, according to a team spokesperson.
Pleta was spotted in street clothes and not participating in pre-game warmups on Thursday night.
The 6-foot-11, 240-pound true freshman from Germany had been solidifying himself as the go-to reserve big man off the bench, getting most of the minutes to relieve starters Blake Buchanan and Joshua Jefferson in the frontcourt. He had played 10 or more minutes in four of the last five games, after sparingly seeing action to start the year.
