ITANAGAR, Dec 11: The Indigenous Youth Force of Arunachal (IYFA) and the Arunachal Pradesh Indigenous Youth Organisation (APIYO) have called for stricter verification measures to curb the presence of illegal immigrants in the state. They also appealed to the public to remain vigilant.
Addressing reporters at the Arunachal Press Club (APC) today, IYFA chairman Kamta Phassang expressed concern over the recent arrest of two individuals by the Itanagar Police on charges of espionage.
“The situation calls for heightened alertness. For the past few months, several organisations have been raising issues related to suspected illegal immigrants and alleged unauthorised constructions of masjid/madrasas within the Capital Region,” Phassang said.
