DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (WFIE) - To make sure everyone can experience the joy of Christmas the Daviess County Detention Center is doing something special for the inmates.
The staff is allowing family and friends to come inside the jail and visit their loved ones in person.
Each inmate can have two visitors for 15 minutes, in addition to their weekly remote video visits.
Staff allocated set visitation times for male and female inmates and those who are classified as high risk.
One inmate says it means a lot to reconnect with family.
“It Gave me a good warm feeling in my heart cause I got I got to see my family and s when they see the struggle that I went through and where I’m at now, it gave my son a good look at where I’ve been and what I’m going through so it’s kind of gotten him more in
