A preliminary 3.3 magnitude earthquake struck near San Juan Bautista Thursday afternoon, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The quake hit at about 5:20 p.m., 5.5 miles away from San Juan Bautista and about 7.8 miles southwest of Hollister, according to the USGS.
