BAY VILLAGE, Oh. - There’s something poetic and beautiful about coming full circle. For Cherie Bauer and Marissa Siebert, that circle took about two decades to complete—through the classrooms at Bay High School, to programs through Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) , and back to BAYarts , where Bauer’s MFA will be celebrated this January.
Bauer, who taught art at Bay High School for 40 years, had Siebert as a student in the early 2000s. Fast forward to 2024, and both women found themselves pursuing graduate degrees through the same institution, supporting each other through the journey of graduate school—this time as peers and colleagues.
