OREGON, USA — A federal judge ruled Thursday that the Trump administration unlawfully attempted to shut down a Federal Emergency Management Agency program that provides billions of dollars for disaster preparedness, according to court documents released by Oregon's Department of Justice.
U.S. District Judge Richard G. Stearns in Massachusetts granted a permanent injunction preventing FEMA from terminating the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities program, which funds projects designed to protect communities from natural disasters before they occur, according to the ruling.
