CHEHALIS, Wash. — Western Washington is reeling after this week’s atmospheric river brought heavy flooding to the area.
In Chehalis, Hamilton Road, not far off Interstate 5, was still covered in water Thursday.
The Newaukum River, which runs into the Chehalis River, is only a couple hundred feet from the road and is still breaching its banks.
The yards of homes transformed into ponds.
Downriver, floodwaters displaced more than a dozen people at the Chehalis Avenue Apartments.
Krissy Killian lives in those apartments, and while not affected herself, she told KGW what happened.
