Eli Lilly is making a significant investment in the Huntsville-Limestone County area with plans to build a new manufacturing facility. The pharmaceutical company announced a more than $6 billion investment focused on producing medicines, including oral GLP-1.

Construction on the 260-acre site at the northeast corner of Interstate 565 and Greenbrier Parkway is expected to begin in 2026, with completion set for 2032.

Bethany Shockney, president and CEO of Limestone County Economic Development, expressed excitement about the impact this facility will have on the community.

"It's going to be good for our citizens, it's going to be good for our county because it will help us with some additional tax revenue that will help us continue to improve for our citizens," Shockney said.
