TYLER, Texas — Banks across Tyler, Lindale and Bullard stepped away from their desks and out to storefronts Thursday for “Bankers Bell Ringing Day,” a long-standing tradition that helps fuel the Salvation Army’s biggest fundraising season of the year.

Each year, the event supports the organization’s programs for the coming year—programs that directly assist families across East Texas through meals, shelter, housing support and recovery services.

The Salvation Army says every donation dropped into a red kettle stays right here in the community.
