At least 10 people died, and several were injured when a private bus plunged into a gorge on the Chinturu–Maredumilli ghat road in Alluri Sitarama Raju district. The accident happened late Thursday night. Officials said the casualty figures could rise. The rescue is being done.

Injured shifted to hospital

According to the ASR District Collector, several passengers were injured in the accident and were immediately transferred to Bhadrachalam Hospital for treatment. The cause of the accident and the identities of the victims are yet to be determined.
