BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - The Maine Rural Water Association held its 45th annual conference and trade show at the Cross Insurance Center Thursday. The event brings together water and waste professions from all over the state.
On the agenda were topics like PFAS treatment, cybersecurity, and opioid exposure in utilities.
Attendees said it was a great opportunity to connect, learn, and bring real changes to Maine’s infrastructure.
The gathering also helps boost morale among members of a very niche profession.
“We are an extremely quiet profession of folks don’t brag about what we do, but one of the things we talk about at Maine Rural Water is we need to wave that flag. We need to let people know that these are community heroes that serve them every single day,” said Brad Sawyer, deputy dire
