PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A Valley prep school that started in 2018 with just a handful of students taking classes at a Chandler strip mall and busing to a gym for practice has grown into one of the nation’s premier wrestling programs.

Valiant Preparatory now houses 85 students between sixth and 12th grade, with all but a few participating in wrestling. The school operates from a modest building in Phoenix with 11 classrooms, a couple of offices, a cafeteria and two giant wrestling mats.

“It’s one-of-a-kind. I don’t think any other place or program out there is like ours,” said student Kal-El Fluckiger.
