A 19-year-old man is dead after being shot by a Peel Regional Police officer in a Mississauga home on Thursday afternoon, Ontario's Special Investigations Unit says.
The police watchdog agency is now investigating the officer-involved shooting, according to SIU spokesperson Kristy Denette.
Denette said preliminary information indicates police received a call about 2:30 p.m. about an injured man. The man went to a home on Greensboro Drive, near Winston Churchill Boulevard and Britannia Road W. for help, and a resident called police, Denette said.
