The murders of Christine Prince, Gracelyn Greenidge and Claire Samson stumped investigators for decades.
The three women shared no connection to one another, as far as police could tell. The attacks were seemingly random. All leads had long gone cold.
The first answers in the three cold cases, the oldest of which went unsolved for more than 40 years, came Thursday. Addressing reporters at Toronto police headquarters, investigators identified Kenneth Smith , now deceased, as the “conclusive” offender in the murders of Prince (1982), Claire Samson (1983) and Gracelyn Greenidge (1997).
Smith died in 2019 at the age of 72 in Windsor, Ontario, Toronto Police Deputy Chief Robert Johnson, told reporters. If alive today, Smith would face murder charges from both Toronto and Ontario provincial
