GUTTENBERG, Iowa (KCRG) - Community members called for transparency from the Clayton Ridge School District at Thursday night’s school board meeting as two state investigations into the district’s top administrators continue.

The Iowa Board of Educational Examiners found probable cause last month against district Superintendent Shane Wahls, the dean, and the middle and high school principal for multiple ethics code violations. The violations include failure to report child abuse and failure of an administrator to protect the safety of staff and students.

“Everything that’s been in the news is embarrassing for our community,” one community member said at the meeting.
