SOUTH DEERFIELD ― Basketball season is officially upon us and Northampton did not disappoint in its season opener contest against Frontier on Thursday.
Spearheaded by a 13-0 run in the second quarter and a strong defensive front from the Blue Devils (1-0), they extended their lead to double-digits, and forced the Redhawks (0-1) to play from behind throughout the game.
Momentum only grew for Northampton, and while Frontier showed some fight, it wasn’t enough to erase the deficit as the Blue Devils captured their first victory of the year with a final of 60-36.
