Volunteers at nearly two dozen cemeteries across Southern Utah are scheduled to participate in this year’s Wreaths Across America event on Saturday, Dec. 13.

Ceremonial balsam fir wreaths harvested in Maine are scheduled to be placed on the graves of those who served in the armed forces at more than 5,200 locations across all 50 U.S. states, in addition to other places at sea and abroad.

At Cedar City Cemetery on Tuesday morning, several members of the Southern Utah University football team and a couple of coaches helped unload some 1,416 wreaths (118 boxes, each containing one dozen wreaths) from a semitractor-trailer.
