A pathologist instructed by the defence in the trial of a woman accused of murdering her husband after he suffered a fatal knife wound told jurors he was 'much more in favour' of the tragedy being an accident.

Daryl Berman, 71, is accused of murdering David Berman, 84, at their home on Butterstile Lane, Prestwich , earlier this year. She denies the charge and is on trial at Minshull Street Crown Court.

Jurors earlier heard the couple had been married for 27 years at the time of his death. Prosecutors allege Mrs Berman killed her husband deliberately and stabbed him in the chest 'for a reason known only to her' on March 13.
