Virgin Media customers across Greater Manchester have reported waking up without internet after a major outage last night . Thousands of reports were made about the issue on Down Detector on Thursday night (December 11).

The issue was affecting several parts of the UK, including Greater Manchester. But some customers are continuing to report problems this morning (Friday).

Manchester Evening News readers commenting on our Facebook page have reported outages in areas including Newton Heath, Pendleton, Little Hulton, Broughton, Chadderton , Middleton and Walkden . Multiple customers have reported being told by Virgin Media that the issue will be fixed by 4.12pm today.
