The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has sacked four flight operations inspectors (FOIs) who were the principal operations inspectors (PIO) for oversight on IndiGo . Designated specifically for an airline, these FOIs are supposed to keep a close watch on the airline’s requirements and also see if they have the required resources in crew terms for their operations. Also Read: DGCA slashes IndiGo flights by 5%; govt doubles it to 10% In IndiGo’s case, say sources, despite the fact that a new flight duty time limitation (FDTL) or crew rostering rules were to come into effect from July 1, 2025, and then Nov 1 which would have increased pilot requirement, the airline did not hire the same. This has led to a shortage where the airline is unable to operate as per the new FDT
