BALTIMORE (AP) — Pete Alonso and the Baltimore Orioles completed their $155 million, five-year contract on Thursday.
Baltimore called a news conference for Friday to introduce the former New York Mets first baseman, a five-time All-Star.
“New York, thank you,” Alonso wrote on Instagram in a post he signed “Polar Bear.”
“These last few years have shaped me in ways I’ll carry for the rest of my life. This city demands your best and I’m proud to look back knowing I gave everything I had into earning the privilege of wearing that jersey,” the slugger said.
