Brothers of the Desert, a local nonprofit that supports Black gay men and their allies, is planning to ring in 2026 at its annual New Year's Eve fundraising gala, where it will honor four inspirational community leaders.

The Carnival-themed event will take place Dec. 31 from 7:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Riviera Resort and Spa Palm Springs, which is offering a room discount to Carnival attendees wishing to stay overnight.

The theme of the fundraising dinner-dance is inspired by the global spirit of Carnival and has been designed to delight the senses, from the Caribbean and Cajun flavors of its sumptuous menu to liberating samba beats rooted in African rhythms.
