Strictly Come Dancing star George Clarke has landed a huge BBC hosting role.

The YouTuber has made it to the semi-finals with professional dancer Alexis Warr, and is battling it out for the glitterball trophy against Amber Davies , Balvinder Sopal and Karen Carney .

After winning over a legion of new fans, George is set to host a show on Radio 1 on Christmas Day.

The social media star was announced in the BBC’s festive line-up, with his pre-recorded episode airing between 3pm and 4pm.

Other presenters on the day including GK Barry and Ella Rutherford, and Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo, as well as Jade and Munya Chawawa.
