New Delhi, Dec 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Jordan, Ethiopia, and Oman from December 15-18, aiming to enhance India’s exports in West Asia and Africa, according to the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO).
This visit signifies India’s commitment to strengthening economic and strategic ties with these regions at a crucial time for global supply chain transformations.
FIEO President S.C. Ralhan stated that Jordan acts as a vital gateway to West Asia, with bilateral trade between India and Jordan reaching $1.2 billion from April to August 2025-26. India exported approximately $461 million during this period, and further economic discussions could increase exports in pharmaceuticals, textiles, and IT services, projecting a target of $5 billion by 2030.
