Education experts have challenged the Ministry of Education’s new directive instructing schools not to send learners back home for failing to wear school uniforms, arguing that the move may create disorder in learning institutions.
This follows a circular signed by the ministry’s Secretary for Education, Ken Ndala, which states that the intention is to promote equal access to education for all learners, including those from economically challenged families.
However, education expert Ben Navitcha says that despite the ministry’s good intentions, the directive may bring significant challenges to school environments.
