As we head into the weekend, snow began falling overnight in the Charleston area, and more snow is expected this weekend.
Most Kanawha Valley school systems have changed their learning plans for Friday.
The National Weather Service in Charleston issued a winter weather advisory in effect until 1 p.m. Friday. NWS also issues a winter storm watch from noon Saturday lasting until 1 p.m. Sunday. By Saturday night, temperatures are expected to drop into the teens and a total of up to 5 inches of snow is expected through Sunday.
