In a dual separated by just one team point with one match to go between the top two teams at last season's state girls wrestling championships, the pressure was as high as it gets for Raccoon River Wrestling junior Mya Van Beek.

With her team trailing Ankeny 35-34 Ankeny after a flurry of pins saw their big lead extinguished, Van Beek needed a win at 100 pounds to lock up a victory for her team on Dec. 11. In front of a huge crowd and Iowa PBS cameras at Waukee Northwest High School, and just minutes before women's wrestling powerhouses Iowa and Grand View would take the mat, the lights could hardly get any brighter.
