LOUISVILLE, Ky. — More than four years after partnering with Ford to create two of the largest electric vehicle battery factories in the commonwealth, South Korea’s SK On announced it would cut ties with the company.
Investors and supporters are now asking what will happen to the plants as Ford takes sole responsibility over operations.
Employees at BlueOval SK are adjusting to the new developments, given SK On will no longer play a part in the two electric vehicle battery plants.
“I'm kind of right on the fence with it," said employee Hadlee Hadfield. "Honestly, I'm kind of anxious about the idea [of], 'Oh no, what if this job goes away,' because for me, this is the most money I've ever made on an hourly basis.
