PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - How far can a good handshake take you in life? More than a hundred Peoria Public School students learned the answer and more.
Fourteen elementary and middle schools and 140 students competed in the Regional Amazing Shake competition over three days, designed to build confidence, communication skills, and professionalism.
Students in 3rd through 8th grades rotated through 60-second challenges called “The Gauntlet” and participated in a “Work the Room” challenge during which they spoke with local leaders.
“These are essential skills that everyone needs in life. We want to prepare our students for the workforce; we want them to have these skills,” said Dr. Nicole Couri-Malson, Executive Director of Peoria Public Schools.
