MADISON (WKOW) — AFSCME Local 1 held a rally at the Wisconsin State Capitol Building on December 11. The event urged the Joint Committee on Employment Relations (JCOER) to approve the 2025-2027 Compensation Plan, which has been pending since September 3, 2025.

According to AFSCME Local 1, the proposed Compensation Plan impacts nearly 30,000 state employees and includes over $27 million in market parity adjustments and bonuses. Despite being a small part of Wisconsin's $111 billion budget, these adjustments are crucial for state workers amid the cost of living crisis.
