BROOKLYN, New York (WABC) -- One resident and two firefighters were injured after a third-alarm fire broke out at a home in Borough Park, Brooklyn, early Friday morning.
Officials say the fire broke out in the basement of a private home on 39th Street at around 6:42 a.m.
The fire quickly spread to all floors through a pipe chase and extended into an adjacent building.
The blaze initially prompted a second-alarm response and was later upgraded to a third alarm after about 90 minutes of firefighting. In total, 33 FDNY units and 138 fire and EMS personnel responded to the scene.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames by 9:01 a.m.
The three injured were transported to area hospitals with minor injuries.
