A 48-hour weather warning has been issued in Greater Manchester - but rain is only expected to hit the region at certain times. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain from 6pm on Saturday (December 13), lasting until 6pm on Monday.
It covers a large area of northern England, including parts of Greater Manchester. Bolton , Bury , Oldham , Rochdale and Tameside boroughs are covered by the warning, plus parts of Manchester, Salford and Wigan boroughs.
The Peak District and Pennines are also covered, plus much of Lancashire and Cumbria. In the worst-affected areas, the Met Office says more than 200mm of rain could accumulate during the 48-hour period.
