Police have caught nearly 850 speeding drivers through a new road safety programme, which issued several penalties to offenders. The initiative from Hampshire, funded by Police and Crime Commissioner Donna Jones, has had a big impact.
Under the scheme, police have equipped two specialist motorcyclists with speed cameras, allowing officers to target speeding drivers on residential roads previously inaccessible to camera vans.
The motorcyclists are part of a joint Safer Roads initiative led by Roads Policing Teams, aimed at improving road safety across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
