The preliminary examination for a trio of people accused of plotting to kill a Macomb Township businessman was delayed Thursday due to the addition of a charge against one of them.

Judge Stephen Sierawski of 41A District Court in Shelby Township adjourned the evidentiary hearing until February due to Macomb County prosecutors adding a charge of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder this week for defendant Dawn Huffman, 44, for the alleged plot against Eddie Jawad.

Huffman’s two co-defendants, her husband Rachard, 39, both of Sterling Heights, and Rachard’s brother, Jason Martin, 44, of Eastpointe, were previously charged for the Oct. 14 ambush attack outside Jawad’s 24 Mile Road home.
